Well today is the day that I leave! I still cannot believe that it came so quickly! I am super excited. This is an amazing opportunity and I want to thank everyone that has been supporting me! Hopefully I will be able to make an impact while I am in Ghana, but I am sure I will also come back impacted! I am eager to experience a new country and culture. I look forward to sharing my adventures when I return home!
Please keep me in your prayers!

Only 3 more days! That is a crazy thought, I can't believe this trip is coming up so quickly! I have been preparing a lot the past few days. I started to pack some medical supplies that I will be carrying, such as band-aids and hydrogen peroxide. There are a lot more medications that we, as a team, are bringing down to Ghana. In addition, I have been packing my clothing which consists mostly of scrub bottoms and t-shirts for the clinic days! It is very interesting packing for Ghana, because it is going to be very hot, but also you need to wear protective clothing for the mosquitoes. So thin, light, long sleeve shirts and bottoms are good. Also I have to spray all of my clothes with some heavy duty insect repellent before I bring them to Ghana. Protection against the mosquitoes is very important and is heavily stressed. We are allowed to bring two bags on the trip. The goal is to fill one bag completely with medications and the other bag with belongings. It is all so exciting! I can not wait to go and experience a new country and culture! I hope that I can be a blessing to the people we are helping in Ghana!
Only 10 days left until I leave for the airport and I'm on my way to Ghana. Now that school is officially out for summer, this trip is becoming even more of a reality. Everything finally seems to be coming together. I am busy unpacking all of my college items and at the same time I am busy packing for my trip for Ghana. Let's just say things are a bit chaotic right now. But all this activity is exciting and makes me anxiously await the trip to Ghana! I feel like the way I have been anticipating my trip all year long is similar to the way I have been anticipating spring all winter long. And just as springtime and all its glory crept up on me so suddenly, the Ghana departure seems to be arriving so quickly!
