We are back from Guyana and we had a great time! My mom put together a summary of the trip. Enjoy! The Chosen 300 ministry team of 16 persons including 7 pastors and 9 lay persons were in Guyana, South America for evangelist meetings and food distribution. Each pastor in the team was assigned to a host church and a Guyanese host pastor and was assisted by at least one lay person from the team. Our team ministered to over 800 people at the various churches. Chantal and I were assigned with Pastor Clarence to the Light of Life – Full Gospel church with Pastor Deo and to the Hauraruni Girls Home as our project. I have been supporting the girl’s home for over three years so it was exciting to finally visit the girls and make an assessment of the home. We spent a full day and a half with the girls presenting them with toys, dresses, flip-flops, doing crafts, singing and just hugging. It was hard to say goodbye. These girls will remain in our hearts and prayers. Our stay in Guyana was very hectic with four nights of evangelistic meetings, two days of sorting and distributing food and toiletries and Sunday service. We even travelled to a church in a remote village. We took two buses and crossed two rivers in small speed boats. It was very exciting and scary. The church which is only accessible by boat was filled with over 100 children and adults. The children sang and recited poetry for us. We had a service and Chantal gave the altar call. Several of the children gave their lives to Jesus. After the service, the children ate and then there was much excitement as they received flip-flops and bags of toiletries while the parents received bags of food. The mission trip was a life changing experience for us. Over 150 persons received Jesus as Savior and/or rededicated their lives. Chantal and I had the opportunity to lead in worship and pray for many young people for salvation and other needs. The people were very appreciative of the work Chosen 300 is doing in Guyana. Many lives have been impacted by this ministry as the churches in Guyana that are sponsored by churches in the US receive a monthly supply of food for distribution to the congregation and community. The sharing of food opens the door for the sharing of the gospel in a nation where many are of Hindu or Muslim background. The Guyanese people are very hospitable and generous. The food and toiletries distribution was a success. The children loved the flip-flops. The presence of God was very evident in the genuine worship of the saints. Chantal and I are so grateful for the opportunity to serve, minister in song, pray with the people. The visits to the orphanages were truly the highlights of the trip for me. We were happy to share the love of God with those who needed it most. We will continue to follow-up on the status of the orphanages and to build relationships with the many beautiful people we met. Thanks again for your prayers. It was evident in the fruit of our labor as well as our protection and the unity of the team.

Here is a super quick update on our trip to Guyana. It has been so busy lately! This is the only free time I have had all week and I am exhausted! We have been doing so many awesome things on this trip!
So far we have been able to visit the girls orphanage, which is an amazing place! More details to follow later. We also have toured the capital of Guyana, Georgetown. It is an awesome place with a lot of history. We also sorted 100 pound bags of flour, cane sugar, and rice. This procedure took a couple of hours and ended with everyone sticky from the sugar and covered in flour! At night we minister at a church, where we help lead worship and then our pastor preaches. We also went up to a remote village called the Pomeroon today. It took two bus rides and two boat rides just to get there! We had a service there and provided food, toiletries, and flip flops! The trip has been amazing! So much is happening and it is very overwhelming, but I am so grateful for this opportunity! I will definitely share more details when I have more time! God Bless! Today my mom and I leave for the airport. Our flight isn't until 1 am tomorrow but we have to get to the airport early. It's crazy to think that I am getting on a plane for the fifth time this summer. I am really looking forward to sharing God's love with the people in Guyana. In preparation for the trip my mom and I collected flip flops and toiletries to give to the people in the villages and the children in the orphanages. Many people donated supplies for the trip. We collected over 100 pairs of flip flops! There were also so many toothbrushes and other toiletries! My mom are in awe of the generosity of the donors and are extremely grateful! Thank you to everyone for being so supportive with this trip!
My mom and I will try to update the blog while we are in Guyana. Follow the blog if you would like to receive updates! Ghana was not my only adventure this summer, I am also traveling to Guyana, the land of many waters, this coming week!
On July 8th I will be flying to Guyana, a Caribbean country on the northern coast of South America. I will be traveling with Chosen 300, a ministry that feeds the homeless in Philadelphia and throughout the world. I have been able to volunteer with Chosen 300 in the past and help them distribute food in a neighboring community. It is an awesome organization and I look forward to ministering with them in Guyana. In Guyana we will be working with a host church and helping them with various ministry assignments. We will be distributing food to the church members and local community and we will also be setting up a vacation bible school for the children. We will also be traveling up the Pomerron river to a remote village to evangelize and distribute food. I am super excited for this trip and extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve and love the Guyanese people. Check back soon for more details!
